What makes an outdoor fitness photoshoot so awesome
A cool location, of course! That’s where it all starts. When you reach out to me, we can immediately discuss your location preferences. Industrial and sleek, or surrounded by nature with lots of greenery, or even on the beach? Anything is possible!
I have an extensive portfolio of locations, including unique spots where we can work in peace. Most of these outdoor fitness photoshoot locations are in the Amsterdam, North Holland & Utrecht regions, but if you’d prefer a spot near you, that’s totally possible too! Does the weather need to be perfect for an outdoor fitness photoshoot?
The answer might surprise you—no, it doesn’t!
I work with portable lights and flashes on location, even outdoors, and by positioning them in a special way, I can simulate bright sunlight—even on a cloudy day. Can you spot the photos on this page that were taken on an overcast day? It was actually pretty cold too…
…those are the ones of Celina & Nicklas. You wouldn’t think so, right? Pretty awesome, right? That’s one of my specialties—creating artificial sunlight during an outdoor sports shoot and adding that extra touch in post-production. I’m your woman!
And what if it rains? Well, that’s a tricky one—unfortunately, I can’t make rain clouds disappear. But often, there are plenty of dry moments between showers where we can still capture great shots, sometimes even creatively using reflections in puddles. If a full day of rain is forecasted, no worries—we’ll just reschedule!
Muscle definition like in a bodybuilding photoshoot
I wouldn’t say the shoot will look exactly like a bodybuilding photoshoot, but one of the big advantages of using additional lighting on location—even when there’s enough daylight—is achieving great muscle and body definition.

Do you need experience for an outdoor sports shoot?
No! I actually work almost exclusively with people who have never been in front of a camera before. I’m a very open person, which is super helpful as a sports and fitness photographer, and you can say anything to me during the shoot. Even if you have insecurities—I’ll help you with that. I’ll guide you on how to look, make you laugh, or help you relax your face. I’ll show you which poses to take and how to move your hands, arms, legs—basically your whole body. You don’t have to worry about a thing, I’ll lead you through the entire shoot.
It’s going to be an amazing experience—guaranteed!
During the outdoor fitness photoshoot, I’ll also show you some of the photos along the way. This helps you see how great you’re doing, which boosts your confidence and reflects in the final shots. It also gives us a chance to check if the results match what you had in mind, especially if you have specific requests. We’ll focus on your body, making sure that whatever you want to highlight stands out perfectly. In short, we do this together. Teamwork!
Do I work out myself?
Yes! I do—I run quite a few kilometers each week and practice strength training. I truly believe that as a sports and fitness photographer, it’s essential to have a connection with what you’re capturing. And I do—so no worries there.
I also have some sports accessories you can use during the shoot. You’re welcome to borrow them, or you can bring your own if you prefer.

Preparation and tips for an outdoor fitness photoshoot
For the best results during your outdoor fitness shoot, hydration, nutrition, and rest are key. Drink plenty of water, eat a balanced diet, and make sure you get enough sleep. This way, you’ll look fresh and energized in your photos!
On the day of the shoot, wear loose-fitting clothing that won’t leave marks or lines on your skin—something like a jogger set works perfectly. Bring the outfits you want to wear for the photos, and you can change on-site. We’ll find a discreet spot for that. If you’d like, you can also apply a bit of lotion to enhance muscle definition. I even have some available in case you don’t bring your own.

Since the location can slightly affect the cost (depending on whether it’s close to or far from the Amsterdam region), I’d be happy to give you a custom quote. But as a guideline, you can refer to the first-listed prices on the rates page: Start €235, Shine €355, or Luxe €475.
Professional editing
These prices include a set number of photos, with the option to order more, as well as professional editing and skin retouching. Got a small blemish or uneven skin on the day of the shoot? No worries! Just let me know, and I’ll take care of it in post-editing.
